Following the European Leaders summit in Brussels over the weekend, the Prime Minister this week made a statement in the Commons appealing to MPs to back the withdrawal agreement and political declaration on the future relationship between the UK and EU. My view is that this is a bad deal as it leaves us worse off than now, still following EU rules but with no say in them, and with the likelihood of new regulatory provisions in future that will inhibit our trade with the EU. It seems very unlikely that she will get this deal through Parliament, after which we will be in unchartered waters and potentially a political deadlock, as the Prime Minister has refused to say what she will do at that point. Given this uncertainty, I asked Theresa May whether she would go back to the people to seek their view
