Kate has announced the lucky winner of her Christmas card competition is 8 year old Amber Cotton from Barton Clough Primary School.
Amber’s winning design will appear on the front of the card which Kate is sending to hundreds of constituents, local businesses, voluntary and community groups, faith groups and schools.
Designs from the five runners up and a selection of other entries from schools across Trafford are also displayed in the card.
Every pupil who contributed a design will receive a certificate and Amber will also be given a certificate and small prize.
For the first time, this year the competition was sponsored by Carrington based property-developer, HIMOR.
On hearing from Headteacher, Mrs Joanna Goodfellow, that she’d won the competition, Year 4 pupil, Amber was overwhelmed saying “I never win anything!”
Amber’s class teacher, Miss Danielle North commented, “I was very proud of Amber for winning the competition, she worked really hard on her design and coloured it beautifully, well done!”
Kate said: “This year I received a record number of entries from local schools – more than 750 in total. I was so impressed with the range of creative designs submitted and it was incredibly hard to pick a winner. Amber’s design stood out as it was so jolly and festive.
“I’m extremely grateful to HIMOR for sponsoring the competition and helping me judge the entries.”
“I want to say a big thank you to everyone who took part in the competition and wish them all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!”
Mark Booth, Managing Director of HIMOR, said, “We’re extremely proud to work with Kate to support the Christmas Card Design Competition. It was great to see all of this year’s fantastic entries, and a special congratulations to Amber for impressing us with her design!”
