Kate has announced the lucky winner of her Christmas card competition is 11-year-old Katie Openshaw from Flixton Girls’ School.
Katie’s winning design will appear on the front of the card which Kate is sending to hundreds of constituents, local businesses, voluntary and community groups, faith groups and schools.
Designs from the five runners up and a selection of other entries from schools across Trafford are also displayed in the card.
Every pupil who contributed a design will receive a certificate and Katie will also be given a certificate and small prize.
The competition was sponsored by Carrington-based property developer, HIMOR, for the second year running.
Competition winner, Katie, said “I loved taking part in the Christmas card competition and I cannot believe I won!
“I will definitely be taking part in the competition next year and thank you, Kate, for my prizes!”
Kate said: “This year I received hundreds of entries from local schools. I was so impressed with the range of creative designs submitted and it was incredibly hard to pick a winner. Katie’s design stood out as it was so jolly and festive.
“I’m extremely grateful to HIMOR for sponsoring the competition and helping me judge the entries.”
“I want to say a big thank you to everyone who took part in the competition and wish them all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!”
Mark Booth, Managing Director of HIMOR, said, “We’re extremely proud to work with Kate once again to support the Christmas Card Design Competition. It was great to see all of this year’s fantastic entries, and a special congratulations to Katie for impressing us with her design!”
