I am particularly concerned that in the case of a no deal Brexit we will immediately cease to be part of European crime prevention networks and systems, which will put our police at a disadvantage and may put UK citizens at risk.

One of the many areas this will affect is the protection of vulnerable children. This week, as part of my role on the Home Affairs Select Committee, I questioned senior officials from the National Crime Agency and National Police Chiefs’ Council about how a no deal Brexit will affect protection for children, including children who have been exploited through child sexual abuse imagery.
