After Kate raised the poor service local people have received from Persimmon and other housebuilders last week in parliament, lots of people from across the country got in touch with her on social media with examples of their bad experiences.
Kate has raised the matter again with the deputy leader of the House, and asked him to convey her concerns to the Secretary of State for Housing Communities and Local Government, urging him to take action swiftly to improve protection for homebuyers.
In the same debate Ruth Smeeth MP raised similar concerns that her constituents have about housebuilders Taylor Wimpey, and many other MPs have told Kate that their constituents have also experienced problems with developers. You can view Kate’s contribution to the debate, in full here.
Kate now expect to receive a response to the concerns raised from the relevant government minister, and will pursue the matter further with colleagues when she return to parliament after the summer break.
