I've sent off my submission to the Turn Moss consultation behalf of a number of constituents who have contacted me to raise their concerns about the application.
There is considerable local hostility to the plans for Turn Moss as they currently stand. Regrettably, this has been exacerbated by the way in which the proposals have been brought forward, and by insufficient attention to providing community benefit, with the gains largely felt to benefit the owners of Salford City FC.
While I understand and welcome the opportunities which UA92 can offer to our young people, there appears to be insufficient public benefit, and considerable disbenefit to local residents, from these plans. They should therefore be withdrawn, and any new plans to provide much needed upgrading of facilities at Turn Moss must be fully and properly consulted on, and enjoy the support of local residents.
