Partington Transmitter

STOP PRESS – Council U-turn as new funding’s found for Transmitter

Thanks to new money for Partington from the Labour government, and efforts by local Labour councillors Dave Quayle and John Smith, new money has been found to keep the Transmitter going following the axing of its funding by Trafford Council. Cllr Alex Williams, Tory candidate for Stretford and Urmston and Councillor for Cuts has been claiming he’s “facilitated” the new funding.

That’s rich coming from the man who cut it in the first place – residents in Partington won’t be fooled. Kate Green said: “I am so pleased to see the Transmitter’s been saved and I want to pay tribute to the hard work of my Labour councillor colleagues who have been working away behind the scenes to ensure it continues to bring news to the people of Partington.”
